see the thing about this is, it’s not just the couples.
Sure, you’ve got Hercules and Megara, Rapunzel and Eugene, Tiana and Naveen, etc, but you also have Mulan and her parents, Anna and Elsa, Aladdin and Genie, and Pocahontas and John Smith (they aren’t a couple, friendly reminder). Because it’s not just two lovers who would put themselves before the one they love. It’s lovers and siblings and friends and family.
How is Disney gonna preach “work hard and your dreams will come true” when Sharpay & Ryan worked almost their whole lives to be on top but then Gabriella & Troy showed up not even able to two step with their boring ass acoustic versions of every single song and stole the spotlight Sharpay and Ryan are supposed to be the villains like…okay work
